It is better to put out hummingbird feeders earlier rather than later. Classic Hummingbird Nectar Recipe:
4-to-1 ration: 1 cup of water to 1/4 cup of sugar, heat the mixture and let it cool.
Unused hummingbird nectar can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week before it begins to spoil.
